  Experience Metroparks in a different light on this evening ride along the banks of the Maumee River. Learn owl calls and techniques for experiencing nocturnal activity. Maximum 2 wheel chairs per trip. All other participants must be able to climb 3 steps.

  Make Thursday morning your bird watching time! Bring your favorite morning beverage and join us in Wildwood's Window on Wildlife for this informal viewing and interpretation of our feathered friends. At 8:30, we may venture out to take a quick look in nearby trees and meadows (optional). No birding experience necessary.

  We'll meet in the Manor House Library for some stories, games and a craft before taking a short hike outside, please dress for the weather. Join us monthly for a different topic. Register participating children only.

  Exhibits from the nation’s premier nature photographers hang alongside images by local talent in this gallery. The National Center for Nature Photography at Secor Metropark is the only center of its kind in the country. Gallery open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  Walk in the park after dark on a hike that focuses on nature at night and seasonal wildlife. We will discover the wonders of the night at a time when normally park visitors are not allowed in the park. Dress accordingly for the weather and let's get outside!

  Come out and enjoy an educational walk at the Toledo Botanical Garden (TBG). This monthly walk will highlight plants throughout the garden and include their seasonal interests-flowers, fruits, bark and more! It will be a great time to check out plants that you may want to consider for your own landscape. (Second Monday of the month, except for June)  
7/22/18 Nature's Nursery Open House 1:00 PM Blue Creek Conservation Area No Registration Required
  Join us for our Open House at Nature’s Nursery. Meet dozens of our Education Animal Ambassadors, participate in several education programs, tour our facility and enjoy Blue Creek Metropark. This is a free, family and large group friendly event but donations are gladly accepted. As we will have many of our resident animals on display, please leave your pets at home.

The 2018 Tea season seating includes both reservation (11:30am-12:30pm) and non-reservation (walk-in) guests from 12:30pm onward.

9/22/18 Backpacking Adventure on the Appalachian Trail 6:00 AM Off-Site Registration Closed
  Let your backpacking dreams come true with this destination trek to one of the most photographed locations on the Appalachian Trail. We will hike to McAfee Knob in the Shenandoah Mountains of Virginia and spend three nights camping on the “AT”.

Fee includes food on the trail and transportation costs. Please indicate any food allergies, sensitivities, or special diet requirements in the special needs section of registration.

Attendance at the pre-trip informational meeting is required. (Sept. 12th, 6-7:30PM Side Cut Lamb Center)

Hike is rated as moderate with a 1500 ft. elevation gain over 4 miles.

Because of the intense planning for this trip, 50% of the fee is considered a non-refundable deposit and overrides the existing refund policy. If you need to cancel for any reason, please call Ashley Smith at 419-265-2920.

9/22/18 Ohio Boating Education Course, OBEC 8:00 AM Wildwood Preserve Registration Closed
  What is OBEC? OBEC is Ohio's official boating education course. This standardized 8-hour course is approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and is offered throughout Ohio to supplement other boating education opportunities. Course content focuses on Ohio and Federal boating laws including equipment requirements, operating laws, rules of the road, and buoy systems, plus topics of risk management, basic safety practices, and survival in emergencies.

Bring a lunch. We will take a 30 minute break.
