  Watch the sun set and the stars come out on the water. All boats and other paddling gear provided; wear clothing and shoes to get wet (no cotton). Participants must be 8 or older to paddle, minors must be accompanied by an adult. Register all participants ages 8+. Up to two children ages 4-7 may ride in the middle for free for every two registered participants. Please leave a comment with ages of all children (for life jacket counts).

  Exhibits from the nationís premier nature photographers hang alongside images by local talent in this gallery. The National Center for Nature Photography at Secor Metropark is the only center of its kind in the country. Gallery open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  Escape the crowds at the Applebutter Festival for an hour of peace and colors. Board "The Volunteer" canal boat and journey along the vividly colored banks of the Miami and Erie Canal. Call 419-407-9741 for reservations if you are bringing a group of 10 or more. Save some time to visit the historic Isaac Ludwig Mill and Heritage Center.

  Metroparks partners with the Naturalists Camera Club of Toledo to present photography programs which include a guest speakers, photo instruction, club information and light refreshments. Please visit the NCNP gallery exhibits before or after the program. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information about the NCCT visit NaturalistCameraClub.org.

  Come to the park with your favorite furry friend! We'll take a naturalist led hike at a different park each month. Please remember to bring a leash as all dogs must be on leash at every Metropark. Coming soon in 2017: Middlegrounds will have the first dog park in the Metroparks!

  Take a brisk walk on park trails to increase your heart rate and get the blood flowing. This is a 50 min walk and covers over 2 miles at a quick walking pace. There will be no walk on federal holidays.

  These one-hour programs give you the very basics. Give it a try to see if you want to sign up for a class or eco-tour!

  Explore the outdoors with a naturalist and learn some new outdoor skills. Scouts will explore nature and the outdoors, learn camping skills, and help care for their parks. All Scouts will receive a Metroparks patch for participating.  
10/11/17 Fallen Timbers Autumn Health Walk 8:30 AM Fallen Timbers Battlefield Registration Closed
  Make Wednesday mornings between Labor Day and Thanksgiving your time to get outside and get moving as you take in the beauty of Fall. An interpreter will share seasonal highlights and lead you on this moderately-paced walk along a 1.5 mile loop trail. Estimated walking time 35-45 minutes.

  Make Thursday mornings your bird watching time! Bring your favorite morning beverage and join us in Wildwood's Window on Wildlife for this informal viewing and interpretation of our feathered friends. At 8:30, we may venture out to take a quick look in nearby trees and meadows (optional). No birding experience necessary!

  Art goes green! Waste, and how we choose to handle it, affects our world's environment‑that's YOUR environment. The waste humans create has to be carefully controlled. Art can be an environmentally sustainable and responsible manner to deal with waste. Spend your Thursday afternoons in the park getting your creative on using waste materials to create something new. Every week a different project can be started and if one does not finish register for the next class to finish. Register all attending.

  Light up the might with friends on a bike ride through your favorite park parks. All skill levels and bikes are welcome. Please bring your bike, helmet (required), wear reflective gear and/or lights, bugspray and bring a water bottle. Please dress appropriately for the weather.   Bring your 3 to 5 year olds to the little cabin in the big swamp to learn about Ohio's own John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed. Children will hear a story, drink warm apple cider, and use apples to make a craft to take home. Please register child only.

10/13/17 Spooktacular Shoot 7:00 PM Westwinds No Registration Required
  The zombie apocalypse has once again descended on Westwinds. The park has been transformed into another world for a nighttime Halloween-themed archery shoot. Bring a flashlight, headlamp or both. Halloween costumes are encouraged and so is your favorite glow-wear (archery safe please). Have your own equipment? Test your skills on the zombie 3D course. If you need a bow to get the job done, Metroparks will provide the gear for beginners ages 8+ on the static range. Snacks and a campfire to keep you warm and full for the fight. Fee: $ 10/per car.

  Who are you? Who? Who! Playing the Past will allow girls to let their imaginations soar. Games, activities and living history will be part of earning this badge at the Oak Grove School House.
