  Take a brisk walk on park trails to increase your heart rate and get the blood flowing. This is a 50 min walk and covers over 2 miles at a quick walking pace. There will be no walk on federal holidays.

  Ever wonder what is behind all those closed doors? Or, where did the maids work and sleep? Take this unique opportunity to see all four floors of the Wildwood Manor House and discover more about what life was like when the historic home was called Stranleigh. Small groups will tour typically closed spaces from the boiler room to the attic. Space is limited.

  Take a tour along the Maumee River in search of waterfowl wintering over in the area. We will search for waterfowl, migrating and native birds (and other wildlife), interpreting their winter behaviors.

  Get outside yourself and get on the trails with a park naturalist. We will look at the flora and fauna of northwest Ohio as we explore a new trail each month. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress according to weather.

  Check out this unique opportunity to try kayaking in the winter months. Metroparks paddling instructors will be on hand to teach basic kayaking skills and play games. For beginners or experienced paddlers. Take advantage of the warm pool to get more time on the water!

With over 32,000 square feet and three floors to scour, this task is harder than it may seem. Spend an hour or the afternoon seeing the house through a new lens. Fun for all ages!  
1/21/18 Adult Learning Series: "In the Watershed: A Journey Down the Maumee River" 2:00 PM Toledo Botanical Garden Register
  Enrich your knowledge of the natural and cultural history of our region through this weekly lecture series featuring an indoor presentation followed by an optional, short naturalist led hike. This week author Ryan Schnurr, an Indiana native, will discuss his book . The main theme will focus on the problems facing the Maumee River and Lake Erie--pollution, algae blooms, etc. These problems are as much historical as ecological. The Terrace Room is located at the Conference Center.  
1/21/18 Fallen Timbers Movie Presentation 2:00 PM Fallen Timbers Battlefield Registration Closed
  The History Channel Presents: "Decisive Battles, The Battle of Fallen Timbers"
The Fallen Timbers Battlefield Preservation Commission will screen the 1999 film "The Battle of Fallen Timbers" at the Visitors Center. The film will be hosted by Craig Fisher who played the role of General Anthony Wayne. Mr. Craig will be on hand to answer questions and offer insight into the making of this remarkable film. The Program is free and open to the public.

Bring your favorite morning beverage and join us in Wildwood's Window on Wildlife for this informal viewing and interpretation of our feathered friends.   It's time to get creative in the park after dark by making art. Tonight's creative endeavor will be to transform pieces of scrap glass into a snowflake mosaic in honor of the winter season.   The Toledo Area Aboriginal Research Society (TAARS) will hold it's monthly meeting on Thursday, January 25, 2018 in the Metroparks Hall, Wildwood Preserve Metropark, 5100 W, Central Avenue, Toledo, Ohio at 7:00 p.m.

The speaker for this month's meeting is Dr. Ken Mohney, Professor of Sociology/Anthropology, at Monroe Community College, Monroe Michigan.

The topic of his presentation is: A review of Mounds and Mound building in Eastern North America.

The TAARS business meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m., followed by a brief break for refreshments. Dr. Mohney's presentation will begin at approximately 7:45. This meeting is free and open to the public.
