7/11/17 Archery League-Advanced: Ages 8 + 7:00 PM Westwinds Registration Closed
  Come test your skills in this unique 3D Archery League at Westwinds Metropark. The 30-target course has special features that will keep everyone coming back for more. Shoot from 2 platforms, a boat, a blind and more! The first meeting is mandatory, but then will be open from Tuesday through Sunday for participants to log their scores.

Classes will consist of:
Youth (Ages 8 to 16)
Traditional
Women Only
Hunter (12 in max stabilizer, screw in field points)
Open (range finder allowed)
Crossbow
(When registering, please specify which class you will compete in the Special Needs field.)

If you don't have your own equipment, you can still participate! Please register for the Beginners Only session.

This is a 10 week league. Please register only for the first program on July 11th. Thank you!

Save the date! Metroparks will host a celebration and awards party at Westwinds Metropark, September 19, 2017, 6-8pm.

  No equipment? No problem! Come test your skills in this unique 3D Archery League at Westwinds Metropark. The 30-target course has special features that will keep everyone coming back for more. Shoot from 2 platforms. a boat, a blind and more!

Metroparks Outdoor Skills Staff will help walk you through your first 3D league. Meetings are every Tuesday at 5:30 pm. The 1st week will consist of instruction on shooting and scoring. No sights or other special equipment will be utilized unless you took a 201 course with Metroparks.

Classes consist of:
Youth (Ages 8 to 16)
Women Only
Open (Men and Women)

(When registering, please specify which class you will be in the special needs field. All youth participants will require a parent or guardian supervision at all times.)

  Take a brisk walk on park trails to increase your heart rate and get the blood flowing. This is a 50 min walk and covers over 2 miles at a quick walking pace. There will be no walk on federal holidays.  
9/2/17 CANCELLED: Cycle Circle: Bike Overnight, 40 miles: Adults 3:00 PM Secor Registration Closed
  Ever dream of going on a bike trip but not sure how or where to start? Here is your opportunity to camp out and explore the different Metroparks in a whole new way on this overnight bike trip. The bike trip will begin at Secor Metropark in the National Center for Nature Photography parking lot, travel a total of 39 miles and end Sunday September 3 at the same parking lot just in time for lunch. The trip will consist of 19 miles the first day, camping along the beautiful Maumee River, and 20 miles the second day.All cyclist and camping levels are welcome to this beginner's cycling trip program. There is a required pre-trip meeting on August 27, 2017 (6:30-8:30 pm) to go over trip expectations and a gear check.

  Watch the sun set and the stars come out on the water at the beautiful Nona France Quarry pond. All boats and other paddling gear provided; wear clothing and shoes to get wet (no cotton).

  Light up the night with friends on a bike ride through your favorite parks. All skill levels and bikes are welcome. Please bring you bike, helmet (required), wear reflective gear and/or lights, bug spray and bring a water bottle. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

  From the soil beneath your feet to the leaves at the top of the trees, the forest is an extremely important type of ecosystem. Head outside with us to rediscover our appreciation for trees. Become a naturalist to find out why the forest is so important to people, animals, and the Earth.

Participants must be 9 or older to paddle their own SUP, children 5-7 must ride on a board with an adult guardian. All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Register all participants ages 8+, please comment and list the ages for unregistered children ages 5-7 (for life jacket counts).

  Learn the basics of off-road cycling and gain the skills and confidence required to ride the tougher sections of trail. Topics range from cycling basics and trail fundamentals to technical riding skills. This class is well-suited for riders of all levels.

Bring your own bike, helmet, and water. Limited mountain bikes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  Experience the natural beauty of the Maumee River with a naturalist while viewing incredible scenery and wildlife. All boards and paddling gear provided; wear clothing and shoes to get wet. Participants must be 12 or older; all minors must be accompanied by an adult. Register all participants. This is a beginner difficulty paddle; skill level required: Beginner; endurance required: intermediate.

  Don't let poison ivy get you down. Learn how to prevent and treat outdoor injuries so you can enjoy nature in all its glory. Brownie Scouts will go on a hike to complete step five of the First Aid Badge. All Scouts will receive a Metroparks patch for participating  
9/14/17 Backpacking 101: Build a Backpacking Stove: Adults and Teens 6:30 PM Secor Registration Closed
  Learn to build your own backpacking stove out of inexpensive household items. Materials provided, and you get to take your stove home with you.

9/17/17 Oak Openings Corridor Hiking Tour: Adults and Teens 12:00 PM Secor Waiting List
  Hop on the Metroparks mini bus and embark on a naturalist-led hiking and driving tour of the Oak Openings corridor properties not usually open to the public. Dress for weather with good hiking shoes or boots.
