6/3/17 Trail Challenge 10:00 AM Metroparks of the Toledo Area Register
  Help us celebrate National Trail Day by signing up to take the Trail Challenge. Set your goal of 50, 100 or 150 miles and create your plan to accomplish your goal and hike! To participate: register online or mail in your registration form with your entry fee. You will receive a t-shirt, entry into the Trail Challenge FaceBook group and invitations to special trail hikes. Your reward will be a hiking stick with the badge of the miles you completed 50, 100 or 150. The form is for you to track your mileage. You can drop off or mail your completed form to Wildwood Preserve Visitors Center by June 30, 2018. You will then be notified when rewards are available for pick-up.

Metroparks encourages you to set a stretch goal, a GET OUTSIDE YOURSELF kind of goal. For some, that will be accomplishing the 50 miles for others the 100 or 150. Watch for Metroparks Featured Trails. Try a trail in a Metropark you've not previously visited. When registering online enter your Mile Goal into the 'Age of Children' text field.

 
7/11/17 Archery League-Advanced: Ages 8 + 7:00 PM Westwinds Registration Closed
  Come test your skills in this unique 3D Archery League at Westwinds Metropark. The 30-target course has special features that will keep everyone coming back for more. Shoot from 2 platforms, a boat, a blind and more! The first meeting is mandatory, but then will be open from Tuesday through Sunday for participants to log their scores.

Classes will consist of:
Youth (Ages 8 to 16)
Traditional
Women Only
Hunter (12 in max stabilizer, screw in field points)
Open (range finder allowed)
Crossbow
(When registering, please specify which class you will compete in the Special Needs field.)

If you don't have your own equipment, you can still participate! Please register for the Beginners Only session.

This is a 10 week league. Please register only for the first program on July 11th. Thank you!

Save the date! Metroparks will host a celebration and awards party at Westwinds Metropark, September 19, 2017, 6-8pm.

Metroparks Outdoor Skills Staff will help walk you through your first 3D league. Meetings are every Tuesday at 5:30 pm. The 1st week will consist of instruction on shooting and scoring. No sights or other special equipment will be utilized unless you took a 201 course with Metroparks.

Classes consist of:
Youth (Ages 8 to 16)
Women Only
Open (Men and Women)

(When registering, please specify which class you will be in the special needs field. All youth participants will require a parent or guardian supervision at all times.)

This is a 6 week league. Please register only for the first program on August 8th.

  Take a brisk walk on park trails to increase your heart rate and get the blood flowing. This is a 50 min walk and covers over 2 miles at a quick walking pace. There will be no walk on federal holidays.

9/2/17 Stewardship Work Day 9:00 AM Blue Creek Conservation Area Registration Closed
  Be a good steward of a natural resource your Metroparks! Volunteers join our Land Stewards on a restoration project which may include invasive species removal. Public volunteer days occur most first Saturdays of the month. Please be sure to dress for the weather and sturdy footwear is strongly recommended. Community groups and individuals are welcome.

9/2/17 CANCELLED: Cycle Circle: Bike Overnight, 40 miles: Adults 3:00 PM Secor Registration Closed
  Ever dream of going on a bike trip but not sure how or where to start? Here is your opportunity to camp out and explore the different Metroparks in a whole new way on this overnight bike trip. The bike trip will begin at Secor Metropark in the National Center for Nature Photography parking lot, travel a total of 39 miles and end Sunday September 3 at the same parking lot just in time for lunch. The trip will consist of 19 miles the first day, camping along the beautiful Maumee River, and 20 miles the second day.All cyclist and camping levels are welcome to this beginner's cycling trip program. There is a required pre-trip meeting on August 27, 2017 (6:30-8:30 pm) to go over trip expectations and a gear check.

  Watch the sun set and the stars come out on the water at the beautiful Nona France Quarry pond. All boats and other paddling gear provided; wear clothing and shoes to get wet (no cotton).

9/5/17 Explore New Metroparks Tour: Eastern Lucas County 9:00 AM Wildwood Preserve Waiting List
  Be one of the few to get a sneak peak of Howard Marsh Metropark. Howard Marsh is not yet open to the public but Members will have a special preview of our newest Metropark. Stretching across almost 1,000 acres of previously agricultural land, this system of trails and constructed wetlands is a great place to bird watch, take a stroll and paddle. In addition to Howard Marsh, the tour will visit Pearson, Middlegrounds and a yet to be named downtown Metropark. For reservations please call Patty Morgenstern at 419-407-9723.

  Make Wednesday mornings between Labor Day and Thanksgiving your time to get outside and get moving as you take in the beauty of Fall. An interpreter will share seasonal highlights and lead you on this moderately-paced walk along a 1.5 mile loop trail. Estimated walking time 35-45 minutes.

  Make Thursday mornings your bird watching time! Bring your favorite morning beverage and join us in Wildwood's Window on Wildlife for this informal viewing and interpretation of our feathered friends. At 8:30, we may venture out to take a quick look in nearby trees and meadows (optional). No birding experience necessary!

  Bring your 3 to 5 year old to the little cabin in the big swamp to learn how to make butter. Little pioneers will explore the Time Traveler's Trunk, hear a story, and make butter, and have and enjoy the outcome of their efforts. Register child only.
