  The Friends of Pearson always welcome fellow fans of the park to help plan events and volunteer activities. These meetings are the best way to learn how to support the popular Oregon Metropark.  
4/7/17 Preschool Pioneers: Building Time (3 to 5 year olds) 10:00 AM Pearson Registration Closed
  Bring your 3 to 5 year old to the cabin in the big swamp for a fun history lesson. Discover the importance of construction skills from our ancestors. Hear a story and compare and contrast tools and supplies needed to build things. Children will build their own model wood cabin to take home. register child only. Adult must accompany child.  
4/14/17 Volunteer Training: Pearson Park Highlights 1:00 PM Pearson Registration Closed
  Park specific natural and cultural history, interpretation and seasonal plant and animal cycles are the focus of this monthly, outdoor field study. Open to all interested adults and recommended for Metroparks Walk Leaders, Roving Interpreters, Wildlife Monitors, Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists and Volunteer Trail Patrol(VMT).  
4/14/17 Calling All Scouts!: A Bear Goes Fishing 6:00 PM Pearson Registration Closed
  It's time to wet a line! Bring your bear cubs out to learn the basics of fishing, poles, bait and instructions provided. Dress for the outdoors as we will spend an hour trying to entice some fish onto shore. You can bring a small folding chair.  
4/22/17 Friends of Pearson Pancake Breakfast 7:30 AM Pearson No Registration Required
  Join the Friends of Pearson for the annual Pancake Breakfast at Macomber Lodge. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, applesauce and orange juice. Sugar-free syrup available.  
4/22/17 Click with Nature Walk: 7-13 years 10:00 AM Pearson Registration Closed
  Spring is here! Capture how nature comes back to life using a camera. Practice your photographic skills and observed some amazing seasonal changes. Bring your camera or borrow one, as there will be limited number of cameras available. Please bring your own SD card.
 
4/22/17 Johlin Cabin Open House (All Ages) 1:30 PM Pearson No Registration Required
  Calling all pioneers of all ages, the Johlin Black Swamp Cabin is open. Home life has changed in the last 150 years. Explore and learn about how settlers endured the Great Black Swamp.  
4/22/17 Cycle Circle: Woodcock Ride, 5 miles (All Ages) 8:00 PM Pearson Waiting List
  On this sunset bike ride we will stop to watch for woodcock, a migratory bird that nests at Pearson. All skill levels and bike styles are welcome. Bring your bike, helmet (required-some provided), reflective gear and/or lights, and bring a water bottle. Dress appropriately for the weather.

 
4/23/17 Metroparks Mutts: April Showers Bring May Flowers (All Ages) 2:00 PM Pearson Registration Closed
  April: Rain or Shine, April is a great time to be outside. Puddles, pools and lakes will be on our route as our furry friends pick up scents in the Great Black Swamp! Dogs must be on a standard 6 foot leash and be up to date on shots.  
4/29/17 Spring Wildflower Walk 10:30 AM Pearson Registration Closed
  Discover what spring wildflowers blanket the forest floor. We will look for trout lily,spring beauty,wild ginger and more.
