  Get moving, socialize and learn from a Metroparks naturalist on this slow stroll along Wildwood's paved or gravel trails. Designed especially for 55 and older, but any age is welcome to join the fun.

4/29/17 Reforestation Work Day: Tree Shelter Installation 9:00 AM Fallen Timbers Battlefield Registration Closed
  Join us in our reforestation efforts at Fallen Timbers Battlefield. We need help installing shelters, stakes, and mulch around thousands of newly planted trees. Be sure to dress for the weather. Please wear only closed toed shoes to protect your feet!

4/29/17 Explore the Oak Openings Expansion 9:00 AM Oak Openings Preserve No Registration Required
  Our biggest Metropark recently got bigger! Come out to explore the natural features of a 400 acre expansion on the west side of Oak Openings. This property is a unique mix of skunk cabbage seeps, mature woodlands, pine plantation and fallow fields. We will look for spring wildflowers and migrating birds. Meet walk leaders Joe Fausnaugh and Brandon Brywczynski at the Rite Aid Parking Lot, 105 West Airport Hwy, Swanton at 9 am. We will carpool to the property entrance.   Exhibits from the nationís premier nature photographers hang alongside images by local talent in this gallery. The National Center for Nature Photography at Secor Metropark is the only center of its kind in the country. Gallery open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  There are 4000 be species native to North America, and many other pollinators like as we distinguish between species, spot look-alike imposters and appreciate their roles in nature and human production.  
4/29/17 CANCELLED: Archery 101: Ages 8-15 3:00 PM Westwinds Registration Closed
  Transform into an arrow-slinging archer in two sessions. Get the tools to safely navigate the range, become familiar with basic archery equipment & start working on precision and accuracy.

Registration fee includes both sessions. Register only if you can attend both. Only Metroparks equipment may be used. First session is Saturday April 29, 2017. Second session is Saturday May 6, 2017. Both session's are from 3:00pm till 4:30pm.

 
4/29/17 CANCELLED:Metroparks Members Ski Hut Open House and Great Lakes Folk Songs around the Campfire: All Ages 7:00 PM Oak Openings Preserve Registration Closed
  View Metropark's newest overnight rental facility. Peruse the renovated ski hut cabin at the Oak Openings Pine Ridge Area and linger to hear Great Lakes historian and folk singer Russ Franzen present an interactive concert around a campfire with songs reflecting the history of the Great Lakes Region. Sing alongs are encouraged; campfire s'mores included. Participants will park at the Horse Riders Center and cross the street to access the ski hut cabin area.
