  Join us every Wednesday beginning April 5 through June 28 to get moving, socialize and learn from a Metroparks naturalist on this slow stroll along Wildwood's paved or gravel trails. Designed especially for 55 and older, but any age is welcome to join the fun.

  Join the Friends of Pearson for the annual Pancake Breakfast at Macomber Lodge. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, applesauce and orange juice. Sugar-free syrup available.

  Metroparks provide great opportunities to explore the natural world here in Northwest Ohio. Nate Koszycki, one of the youngest members of Toledo Naturalist Association, is an extremely knowledgeable birder and is more that happy to help others sharpen their birding skills.   Join Metroparks and Wood County Parks to celebrate the launch of this campaign supported by agencies across Northwest Ohio. Dr. Youngwoo Seo, Associate Professor at University of Toledo, will present his work on bacteria and algal toxin removal. We will then tour the greenhouse at Reuthinger Preserve to learn about how native plants improve water quality, before finishing the day at Middlegrounds Metropark and learning about how the design of the park promotes clean water in downtown Toledo. Transportation is provided, or you may carpool. Please pack a lunch and reusable water bottle.

4/22/17 Project Wet Training 9:00 AM Wildwood Preserve Registration Closed
  Project WET is for educators of all kinds-classroom teachers, scout leaders, nature interpreters, parents and others. This workshop promotes water awareness and community actions through fun, hands-on, activities designed for easy use and to fulfill multi-disciplinary educational standards. All participants take home the Project Wet curriculum guide, a thorough and excellent resource. Please bring a sack lunch and reusable drink container.
4/22/17 Reforestation Work Day: Tree Shelter Installation 9:00 AM Fallen Timbers Battlefield Registration Closed
  Join us in our reforestation efforts at Fallen Timbers Battlefield. We need help installing shelters, stakes, and mulch around thousands of newly planted trees. Be sure to dress for the weather. Please wear only closed toed shoes to protect your feet!

  Spring is here! Capture how nature comes back to life using a camera. Practice your photographic skills and observed some amazing seasonal changes. Bring your camera or borrow one, as there will be limited number of cameras available. Please bring your own SD card.

  Exhibits from the nationís premier nature photographers hang alongside images by local talent in this gallery. The National Center for Nature Photography at Secor Metropark is the only center of its kind in the country. Gallery open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  This program is cancelled: Wildlife conservationist, Aldo Leopold, wrote of the happiness associated with spring time floods. Learn more about how Metropark animals combat spring water levels and ponder other thought provoking wildlife quotes from this author while walking.

  Park specific natural and cultural history. interpretation, and volunteerism are the focus of this outdoor training that features a different Metropark each month. Open to all interested adults and recommended for Metroparks Volunteers.(VMT)

  Calling all pioneers of all ages, the Johlin Black Swamp Cabin is open. Home life has changed in the last 150 years. Explore and learn about how settlers endured the Great Black Swamp.  
4/22/17 Cycle Circle: Woodcock Ride, 5 miles (All Ages) 8:00 PM Pearson Waiting List
  On this sunset bike ride we will stop to watch for woodcock, a migratory bird that nests at Pearson. All skill levels and bike styles are welcome. Bring your bike, helmet (required-some provided), reflective gear and/or lights, and bring a water bottle. Dress appropriately for the weather.
