  Enjoy a spring morning in the beautiful surroundings of Pearson with a pancake breakfast hosted by Friends of Pearson. The fee for children under the age of 12 is $2.75.
 
4/13/13 Birders of a Feather: Birds of the Wetlands 8:00 AM Pearson Registration Closed
  Last year's spring hike to the wetlands produced a number of snipe and rusty blackbird sightings. This year’s trek promises to be just as eventful. Become part of a bird watching flock. The group meets at different parks each month to share the enjoyment of birding. First-timers and experienced birders love these monthly avian explorations. Bring binoculars and field guides. These programs are free, but please register if you plan to attend.  
4/13/13 Volunteer Trail Patrol First Aid/CPR: VTP Training 8:00 AM Wildwood Preserve Registration Closed
  This training is for current members of volunteer trail patrol and new members needing certification. Not open to the general public  
4/13/13 Raptor Bio-blitz 8:30 AM Oak Openings Preserve Registration Closed
  Volunteer for some Metroparks fun in the field searching for raptors in Oak Openings Preserve. Participants are teamed up for a self-directed search for raptors in different areas of Oak Openings using a map and a list of species to focus on. Volunteers should register for these sessions at least 7 days in advance in order to appropriately plan the survey routes, weather permitting.  
4/13/13 2nd Annual Wildwood Spring Carnival 10:00 AM Wildwood Preserve No Registration Required
  Fun, Food, Kid's Games, Snacks, Raffles and Prizes. All proceeds go towards building the new children's playgroun at Wildwood. (Ward Pavilion is located at the east entrance, near Corey Road). Sponsored by Volunteers In Parks.  
4/13/13 Isaac Ludwig Mill Docent Training 10:00 AM Providence Registration Closed
  This orientation session will prepare interested volunteers in becoming Mill Docents for our 2013 season. Docents are stationed in the mill during open hours to welcome guest, assist with tours as well as answer questions and share the history of the mill. No previous experience is necessary.
