6/3/17 Trail Challenge 10:00 AM Metroparks of the Toledo Area Register
  Help us celebrate National Trail Day by signing up to take the Trail Challenge. Set your goal of 50, 100 or 150 miles and create your plan to accomplish your goal and hike! To participate: register online or mail in your registration form with your entry fee. You will receive a t-shirt, entry into the Trail Challenge FaceBook group and invitations to special trail hikes. Your reward will be a hiking stick with the badge of the miles you completed 50, 100 or 150. The form is for you to track your mileage. You can drop off or mail your completed form to Wildwood Preserve Visitors Center by June 30, 2018. You will then be notified when rewards are available for pick-up.

Metroparks encourages you to set a stretch goal, a GET OUTSIDE YOURSELF kind of goal. For some, that will be accomplishing the 50 miles for others the 100 or 150. Watch for Metroparks Featured Trails. Try a trail in a Metropark you've not previously visited. When registering online enter your Mile Goal into the 'Age of Children' text field.

1/1/18 Snowshoe Pop-Up Programs: Ages 5+ 12:00 PM Off-Site Register
  When the snow falls get outside and escape on a snowshoe hike through the winter wonderland of your Metroparks. Snowshoe pop-up programs will be posted on short notice when the snow conditions are right.

Register here to get your email on our email list; this does NOT register you for a snowshoe program. When it snows and a pop-up snowshoe program is scheduled you will receive an email alert; you must register for each pop-up program individually. There are no snowshoe programs pre-scheduled for January, February, or March; registering for these dates simply puts your email on the email list to be alerted when a pop-up program is scheduled.

3/21/18 Fallen Timbers Spring Health Walk 8:30 AM Fallen Timbers Battlefield Register
  Make Wednesday mornings between the Spring Equinox and Memorial Day your time to get outside and get moving as you take in the beauty of Spring. An interpreter will share seasonal highlights and lead you on this moderately-paced walk along a 1.5 mile loop trail. Estimated walking time 35-45 minutes.  
3/21/18 Story Time in the Manor House: Owls Fly By (Ages 3 to 5) 10:30 AM Wildwood Preserve Register
  We'll meet in the Manor House Library for some stories, games and a craft before taking a short hike outside, please dress for the weather. Join us monthly for a different topic. Register participating children only.

3/21/18 Good Health Walks 11:00 AM Wildwood Preserve No Registration Required
  Take a brisk walk on park trails to increase your heart rate and get the blood flowing. This is a 50 min walk and covers over 2 miles at a quick walking pace. There will be no walk on federal holidays.  
3/21/18 Short Hort 4:00 PM Toledo Botanical Garden Register
  Learn a little about horticulture from a horticulturist and then put that new-found knowledge to work in the Toledo Botanical Garden. Tools and insight are provided! Free, Reservations.  
3/21/18 Calling All Scouts: Webloes, Earth Rocks 6:00 PM Farnsworth Register
  Discover how important the very thing you walk and drive on every day is, as we complete 8 of 8 requirements of this Webloes adventure. Almost everything you touch/see/taste and feel on a daily basis are tied to the resources contained in the Earth. All Scouts will receive a Metroparks patch for participating.  
3/21/18 Backpacking 101: (Teens and Adults) 6:00 PM Oak Openings Preserve Register
  Have you wanted to try backpacking, but didn't know where to start? Metroparks outdoor skills staff will cover backpacking basics such as types of packs, how to select and fit, what and how to pack. We will also impart some tips on cold weather camping. Afterwards, strap on a backpack and go for a practice hike to see how a loaded pack feels. Backpacks provided. Please dress for the weather. This is a rain or shine program.

  New to birding? Learn the basics like how to use and choose binoculars and bird guides,
where to bird and what kinds of birds you might see. Register at
