6/3/17 Trail Challenge 10:00 AM Metroparks of the Toledo Area Registration Closed
Help us celebrate National Trail Day by signing up to take the Trail Challenge. Set your goal of 50, 100 or 150 miles and create your plan to accomplish your goal and hike! To participate: register online or mail in your registration form with your entry fee. You will receive a t-shirt, entry into the Trail Challenge FaceBook group and invitations to special trail hikes. Your reward will be a hiking stick with the badge of the miles you completed 50, 100 or 150. The form is for you to track your mileage. You can drop off or mail your completed form to Wildwood Preserve Visitors Center by June 30, 2018. You will then be notified when rewards are available for pick-up.

Metroparks encourages you to set a stretch goal, a GET OUTSIDE YOURSELF kind of goal. For some, that will be accomplishing the 50 miles for others the 100 or 150. Watch for Metroparks Featured Trails. Try a trail in a Metropark you've not previously visited. When registering online enter your Mile Goal into the 'Age of Children' text field.

1/1/18 Snowshoe Pop-Up Programs: Ages 5+ 12:00 PM Off-Site Registration Closed
When the snow falls get outside and escape on a snowshoe hike through the winter wonderland of your Metroparks. Snowshoe pop-up programs will be posted on short notice when the snow conditions are right.

Register here to get your email on our email list; this does NOT register you for a snowshoe program. When it snows and a pop-up snowshoe program is scheduled you will receive an email alert; you must register for each pop-up program individually. There are no snowshoe programs pre-scheduled for January, February, or March; registering for these dates simply puts your email on the email list to be alerted when a pop-up program is scheduled.

1/31/18 Super Blue Moon Night Walk 7:30 PM Secor Waiting List
Have you ever heard the phrase “once in a blue moon”? Well 2018 is giving us two blue moons, a celestial treat. January 31st blue moon will not disappoint because it is actually a Super Blue Moon! What does this all mean? January 31st will be our second full moon for the calendar month making it a blue moon. It is also a super moon, meaning that the full moon is at its closest orbit to the Earth making it appear bigger and brighter. These two phenomenons happing at the same time make it a super blue moon. Not only is all this happening but if you are awake in the early hours of January 31st you will also experience the super blue moon eclipse. The partial lunar eclipse will happen before sunrise around 6:48 am, and only last a short time before the moon sets. In the Americas, this is the first blue moon eclipse in 150 years. For our evening hike we will only experience the full blue moon. The next blue moon will be March 31st, 2018. Please remember to dress for the weather.
