7/4/17 Great Black Swamp Frogs vs Woodstock, Ontario Actives: Vintage Baseball Game, 1860's Style 1:00 PM Wildwood Preserve No Registration Required
  The Great Black Swamp Frogs will challenge the Woodstock, Ontario Actives July 4th at Wildwood Preserveís Trailside Field from 1-3 p.m. These vintage baseball clubs play according to 1860ís rules and have met twice a season for 22 years on Canada Day in Woodstock and in Toledo on July 4th. Historically accurate equipment, uniforms and rules recreate baseball in the era before the Civil War. All are welcome to watch & cheer.  
7/8/17 Fishing Derby 8:00 AM Oak Openings Preserve No Registration Required
  Metroparks Rangers are pleased to present a Saturday morning of fishing, fun and prizes. Drawings and prizes throughout the day for various contests such as biggest fish, most fish, smallest fish and more. Once fishing is over, enjoy a hot dog and snacks while the results are being tallied. Fishing Derby is for children ages 5 to 15. Metroparks will supply the bait. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and Fishing begins at 9 a.m.  
7/9/17 Under the Mallard Lake Moon 5K 9:30 PM Oak Openings Preserve Register
  Metroparks and Toledo Roadrunners Club present a unique opportunity to experience your Metroparks under the light of the full moon. Run or walk the 5K course after dark. Some special lighting along the route and a limited supply of glow sticks will be provided. We encourage you to decorate yourself with glow attire. This just-for-fun event has no official timing or scoring so go at your own pace. And if you've ever wondered what is out there in the woods at night, naturalists will be on-site to explain. Each of the runs in the series, will have various other activities such as roaring fires, s'mores, apple cider, donuts and music. Everyone starts at 9:30 p.m., no late starters for safety reasons.

7/15/17 Maumee Valley Adventurers Metroparks Tour 7:00 AM Metroparks of the Toledo Area Register
  Spend a beautiful day cycling country roads and bikeways. Choose from four routes of 15, 31, 62 or 100 miles. Depending on the route, you could visit up to four Metroparks, the Wabash-Cannonball Trail and the Towpath Trail. All ages are welcome, but youth 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Helmet required. Registration forms available at the Visitor Center at Wildwood, local bike shops, MetroparksToledo.com and http://www.mvadventurers.org/bike-tours

8/5/17 Wiregrass Takes Flight 10:00 AM Wiregrass Lake No Registration Required
  Flying Tigers Remote Control Model Club will take to the air again this summer over Wiregrass Lake. The planes are outfitted with pontoons to perform take offs and landings on the lake. Try your hand at flying in the Academy of Model Aeronautics Flight Simulator. You can fly and crash all you like until you get the touch of the controls. Maumee Valley Boat Club will be cruising the lake with their remote control boats. This event promises to be a flying and floating adventure. Pack a lunch, chairs and/or a blanket and enjoy the remote control action.  
8/6/17 Westwinds Takes Flight 10:00 AM Westwinds No Registration Required
  Flying Tigers Remote Control Model Club will take to the air over Westwinds. Have you ever wanted to experience holding the controls of a remote control plane? There will be "ground school training" in the Academy of Model Aeronautics Flight Simulator, where you can fly and crash all you like until you get the feel of the controls. Then you'll have the opportunity to experience flying the actual planes. The Airshow is at 12:30, the pro's will take to the air to thrill the crowd. Don't miss this action packed fun filled day. Pack a lunch, chairs and/or blanket and enjoy the remote control action.  
8/12/17 Under the Moon and Meteors Too 5K 9:30 PM Secor Register
  Experience your Metroparks under the light of the moon. Run or walk the 5K course after dark. Glow sticks will line the route marking your safe passage through the nighttime woods. You are encouraged to decorate yourself with glow attire. This is just-for-fun run/walk so no official timing or scoring, go at your own pace. Everyone starts together at 9:30 p.m., no late starters for safety reasons.

After the 5K, stay for a nighttime sky filled with the Perseid Meteor Shower. It is the best and most popular meteor show of the year. Metroparks will have campfires, snacks, beverages as well as a naturalists on-hand to answer questions. They will give a presentation on meteor watching tips at 10:30 p.m. You're welcome to stay and enjoy the light show until 12:30 a.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, settle in and enjoy the meteor viewing.

  Metroparks presents BugFest!, a celebration of bugs. Experience the incredible, unforgettable Dr. Insecta Show starting at 10 a.m. Our community partners will be there to educate, entertain and amaze you with all things bugs. The National Center for Nature Photography will feature exhibits focused on bugs. Bugs, Bugs Bugs, we all love bugs. The entire family will love BugFest. No worries the food trucks will not be featuring edible bugs, bring your appetite and enjoy a nice lunch in the park.

Explore your Metroparks lakes and ponds without getting your feet wet. RC Boating is a wonderful outdoor activity that is enjoyed by operator and spectators alike. For this one weekend Metroparks is providing a one-time opportunity for RC boating and inviting you to bring your electric boat to the Metroparks of your choosing.

Whether you're the RC Boater or the spectator spending a lazy afternoon watching the boats, come on out to the Metroparks and enjoy your day.

  A jam packed day of everything outdoors. Ohio Hunting Retriever Club featuring demos along with an opportunity for your dog to retrieve, water craft, wildlife, Ducks Unlimited, ducks decoys, decoy carvers, taxidermy, duck calling demonstrations, archery, fishing and much more. We have something for everyone; dog lovers, outdoor enthusiasts and hunters alike. Bring the dog and the kids and experience Pearson.  
10/13/17 Spooktacular Shoot 6:00 PM Westwinds No Registration Required
  The zombie apocalypse has once again descended on Westwinds. The park has been transformed into another world for a nighttime Halloween-themed archer shoot. Bring a flashlight, headlamp or both. Halloween costumes are encouraged and so is your favorite glow-wear (archery safe please). Have your own equipment? Test your skills on the zombie 3D course. If you need a bow to get the job done, Metroparks will provide the gear for beginners ages 8+ on the static range. Snacks and a campfire to keep you warm and full for the fight. Fee: $ 10/per car  
10/14/17 Spooktacular Shoot 2:00 PM Westwinds No Registration Required

10/21/17 Fall Frenzy at the Quarry: Featuring Record Breaking S'more Attempt and Food Drive 10:00 AM Blue Creek Conservation Area No Registration Required
  Fall into the Quarry, a festival to help you fall in love with the quarry. Now open for canoeing, kayaking, fishing, or enjoying a lazy afternoon swing on the overlook. Fall into the Quarry will feature kayaking, canoeing, archery, bouldering, activities on soccer fields for youth by Anthony Wayne Youth foundation, carriage rides, try out a bike from Cycle Werks, and many, many more activities.

Metroparks is also going to make a world record attempt at breaking the Guinness World Book of Records of the most símores made at the same time.

As we are reaching for a food world record we invite the community to join us in a food drive for our local food pantry. Donate a canned or dried food good at the festival or at any of your Metroparks. There is a canoe placed in parking lots at the Metroparks Ė please place you donated items in the canoe. Letís overflow those canoes with donated foods and make this food drive as large as a world record for the benefit of our community. Free

10/22/17 Tombstone Bike Tour 11:00 AM Oak Openings Preserve Register
  Maumee Valley Adventurers presents the 40th peddling of the Tombstone Bike Tour. This special bike ride passes 11 area cemeteries with more moderate routes available for families and less-experienced bikers.
